Battle of the Meal Deals

Meal deals are always a popular lunch choice – whether for a road trip, office lunch or as a quick bite to eat on a day out. However, meal deals themselves spark a lot of debate – which is the best snack to choose? Do you pick a healthy snack or stick with crisps? Do you pick for the value, for health or for your all-time favourites?

We’ve surveyed 2000 members of the UK public to finally put an end to the debate and name the UK’s favourite meal deal.

The results show that it’s a battle between the BLT and the Chicken & Bacon sandwich for the top sandwich, but overall, the BLT sandwich just steals the crown. The fruit salad is revealed as the top snack with Coca Cola taking the top spot for drinks, rounding off the ultimate meal deal combination.

However, when it comes to the top meal deal choices by city, things aren’t quite so clear cut. The top meal deal trio of a BLT, fruit salad and Coca Cola proves to be a firm favourite across many UK cities, however, residents of Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Brighton and Southampton prefer to throw some other choices into the mix through the likes of cheese and onion sandwiches, Irn Bru and some alternative crisp-based snacks.

What’s your cities favourite meal deal?

While a meal deal is an easy and fuss-free lunch option that provides plenty of options to mix and match your meal, food intolerances can still leave some people feeling limited. If you’d like to switch up your lunch but are put off by uncomfortable symptoms, why not try a food intolerance test to help identify your triggers and feel more comfortable when managing your diet.
