At home chlamydia, gonorrhoea and Trich test
The most common STI’s
Chlamydia is a the most common STIs. It can cause serious, permanent damage to a woman’s reproductive system. If you’re a woman, sexually active and under 25, it’s recommended that you have a chlamydia test once a year, and when you have sex with new or casual partners. Most people with chlamydia do not notice any symptoms and do not know they have it.
Gonorrhoea is caused by bacteria called Neisseria gonorrhoeae and is also known as “the clap”, typically causing an offensive green discharge, but around 1 in 10 infected men and almost half of infected women do not experience any symptoms.
Trichomoniasis is caused by a parasite called Trichomonas vaginalis (TV). In women, trichomoniasis can cause a foul-smelling vaginal discharge, genital itching and painful urination. But up to half of all people will not develop any symptoms. Men who have trichomoniasis typically have no symptoms.
